Fall Employment Opportunity
Queen City Counseling & Consulting is looking for a fully licensed clinician to join our team as a Non-Exempt full-time W-2 employee. Fully licensed clinicians are preferred however, provisionally licensed clinicians will be considered based on experience.
This person must have experience working with the adolescent population and is comfortable working with higher risk clients with a history of suicide attempts, chronic suicidal thoughts, self harm, and trauma. Experience in a higher level of care is preferred (acute crisis stabilization, residential, PHP etc.)
A clinician in this position will be providing outpatient individual therapy and group therapy sessions, along with some supplemental family work. This position will require the clinician to have a large participation in our Intensive Programing including Individual Intensives and our Intensive Outpatient Program providing group, individual, and family therapy within the program. In addition, it will provide opportunities for the clinician to engage in outreach, trainings, and education in community settings such as schools that we have partnered with.

Work hours and schedule may vary depending on patient and QCCC needs. Hours will require evenings appointments until at least 6:30 PM -7PM at least 4 days per week (6 PM on IOP days) with the flexibility for later sessions and/or weekend availability based on therapists preference or desire. Therapist is not guaranteed a minimum number of patients or sessions per week. However, it is expected that the Therapist will meet a MINIMUM of 25 direct clinical hours per week (including assessments, group, individual, family, and parent consult sessions) provided such sessions are available and referred/scheduled by QCCC. This position requires a MINIMUM of 30 total work hours per week including the direct clinical hours, with availability for 40 hours per week should additional tasks require it. Compensation is based upon a piece rate model (combination of hourly and percentage) from both direct clinical care and administrative work completed.
Requirements:
Graduate Degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or relevant counseling field
Fully Licensed in the state of NC. Provisionally licensed considered based upon experience
Experience working with Adolescent Population
Experience with suicide risk assessments, crisis stabilization, and working with high risk clients (suicide attempts, chronic suicidal thoughts, self harm)
Pass a full background check including licensure check
Must be able to work until 6:30- 7 PM 3 to 4 nights per week
Must meet a minimum of 30 hours per week including a minimum of 25 direct clinical hours per week.
Preferred:
Experience working with higher levels of care (DBT programs, acute inpatient, partial hospitalization, IOP, residential settings)
Experience and/or training in trauma
Experience facilitating group therapy
Fully Licensed
At least one year post licensure
Pay: piece rate payment system utilizing a combination of:
Percentage ranging from 40 – 50 % based on licensure level and experience for all assessments, individual and family sessions, and outpatient group therapy
Clinical hourly rate for IOP groups based on licensure level and experience
Administrative hourly rate for non clinical admin work

Queen City Counseling & Consulting considers itself a teaching practice and values the clinical practicum experience as well as the input and new approaches that our up-and-coming students have to offer.
We currently full for through Spring 2027. Please contact us if you are interested in a summer 2027 clinical internship. We strongly encourage those students applying for a more clinical internship be in their second year however, will consider first year applicants.
