Queen City Counseling & Consulting provides customized individual intensive therapy plans for young adults who need a higher level of care or intensity than once per week regular outpatient therapy but are unable to attend a group IOP program for various reasons.

Am I appropriate for an IIP?

An IIP is a great way to address your individual needs if :

  • You have tried regular outpatient therapy, but your symptoms or struggles are intensifying and beginning to significantly interfere with daily functioning
  • You need an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) but their schedule does not fit with your school or work schedule that you are trying to maintain
  • You have completed a higher level of care (IOP, PHP, Residential) have a solid foundation of knowledge, are “grouped out” and want to work more intensively on individual needs and applying skills to your specific situation
  • You want to really customize your therapy to meet specific, specialized needs such as a focus on OCD or a focus on Trauma

What does an IIP look like and how do I get started?

An IIP will typically consist of at least 3 sessions per week and often with two separate therapists who will be assigned as part of your clinical team but can be fully customized based on specific needs. Sessions can include a regular individual process session, psych-ed sessions, family sessions where appropriate, and/or specific specialties such as OCD or Trauma if and where appropriate.

To best determine your treatment plan schedule and goals in an IIP you will complete a clinical assessment with one of our therapists at which time they will determine an IIP schedule based on your clinical needs as well as scheduling.

IIPs are created to meet the needs of clients who need additional assistance outside of once weekly therapy and the program includes case management services and care coordination with current treatment providers. The goal is to return to your current team upon completion of your IIP.

What is the commitment here?

There is certainly a time and cost commitment to an IIP. Because we tailor your treatment plan and goals to meet your specific needs, our therapists set aside multiple weekly sessions per week to meet with you in addition to time to coordinate with the QCCC treatment team as well as any additional treatment providers involved. Our team will help provide recommendations and referrals for ongoing and/or additional care as needed. As a result, you are required to commit to an initial deposit equal to 2 weeks of services and moving forward will pay a weekly fee at the start of each week for all services based on your treatment recommendations.
